Local Family Dental Office in Hillsborough, NC

Hillsborough Family & Cosmetic Dentistry’s mission is to provide high-quality, family-centered dental care. We understand each family member’s unique needs and concerns, from our youngest patients to our most experienced ones. To better serve our patients, we are firm believers in the power of prevention. We work with you to establish good oral health habits from an early age.

Dr. Williamson grew up in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and moved to the United States in 2013 to pursue his education. He chose to make Hillsborough his home because this community welcomed him. Here, he put down roots, built a practice, and started a family with his wife, Jenny.

Dr. Williamson wants to treat every patient the way he would want his own family treated. He listens first, explains clearly, and never rushes his patients.

When you visit our Hillsborough office, you’ll notice the difference immediately. With warm lighting, comfortable seating, and a team that greets you by name, we designed our office to feel like visiting family.

Patient Review

The entire staff is informative and friendly. Dr. Mike always asked for a signal if I’m uncomfortable in any way. He is kind and explains how and why procedures are done. He tries to do the less invasive procedures if possible. I have enjoyed working with the new practice.

Why is Oral Health Important?

For some patients, oral health and hygiene may not be at the top of their priority list. But your oral health is more than just a pretty smile or avoiding tooth pain. In fact, your oral health touches many parts of your overall health and quality of life. At Hillsborough Family & Cosmetic Dentistry, we want our patients to have beautiful and healthy smiles.

According to many experts, oral health is closely connected to your overall health. Research links poor oral health to various systemic conditions and diseases. Some of these include heart disease, diabetes, and respiratory infections. When you have good oral health, you can boost your immune system and avoid various health concerns.

Good oral health can help prevent many dental issues. Regular oral care is imporant to keep your mouth healthy. When you brush, floss, and schedule regular dental checkups to prevent cavities, gum disease, and tooth loss. Preventing these issues can save you from pain, discomfort, and costly dental treatments.

As a family dental practice, Hillsborough Family & Cosmetic Dentistry caters to patients of all ages. Our littlest patients need dental care, too!

Children are never too young to learn that their teeth matter. Teaching a child to brush is teaching them to care for themselves. Those tiny, wobbly baby teeth are holding space for adult teeth underneath. Protecting them now sets the stage for strong, healthy smiles later in life.

Dr. Williamson and our team love showing our youngest patients the right way to brush and floss. We make it fun, not scary. Because the habits children learn here can stay with them for a lifetime.

Your oral health is not just about your teeth. It is about your confidence, your comfort, and your overall well-being. And we are honored to help you protect it.

Children’s Oral Health

Childhood is an important time for learning and building routines. Forming good oral hygiene habits in childhood can set the stage for a lifelong commitment to dental care. Children who are taught to prioritize their oral health at a young age are more likely to continue their routine into adulthood. As a result, they are less likely to develop major dental problems later in life.

At our Hillsborough dental office, we teach our smallest patients the right way to brush and floss their teeth. We even show parents and guardians how to care for their child’s growing teeth. Dr. Williamson wants all his patients to be prepared and create a good oral health routine.
